The hardwood industry has operated for decades based on a standardized lumber
lumber grading system. For many manufacturers and end-users, industry grades provide only a starting point for their true needs.
Manufacturing has evolved rapidly over the past decades. If you have ever received a poor shipment of lumber, being told that "it makes grade" is of little consolation.
CFP clients receive materials based on their specific needs. We ask for as many specifications as possible. Why? Because most of our competitors will not work that hard. We say bring it on!
These 8/4 x 15" FAS White Oak boards were selected
for a countertop application. All boards were clear 1 face and free from surface checking.
8/4 Pau Ferro is not widely available both because of the limted production of the specie and the difficulty of kiln drying it in 8/4 thickness. This material was cut as 8/4 in South American and kiln dried in the United States.
