Walnut Slab Live Edge Table build
Walnut slabs with live-edges are amazing for table-tops. A few years ago, we had a spectacular live edge American Black Walnut slab in the warehouse left over from a large residential project. It was a full 2 thick by almost 30″ wide. Every time I walked by I thought “That would make a cool coffee table.” Despite my weak repertoire of woodworking skills, I decided to give it a go.
The walnut live-edge table project inspired me to make a live edge Swamp Ash slab end-table, too. Although I like the natural look of bark, it’s difficult to leave on successfully. Rather, it’s not difficult to leave on, The hard part is keeping it on over time! The walnut table still looks good but occasionally, I find small bark pieces on the carpet.
