What is Domestic Lumber?
Domestic hardwood lumber is wood produced from hardwood dicot trees grown in North America. Geographically, domestic lumber refers to trees grown in all of North America. However, the lumber industry traditionally refers to woods grown in the United States and Canada as domestic. Whereas, Mexican hardwoods are classified as exotics, despite growing in North America.
