Maple Cue Blanks For Sale
Maple cue components for billiard, pool, snooker shaft and handle construction requires precision drying & machining.
The tolerances and grade specifications are higher than typical for traditional maple turning square applications.
Because of the similarities between the rigorous demands of instrument manufacturers and cue makers, we started officially offering standardized cue blanks for sale in 2023. We’ve serviced billiard and cue makers for years, however, the grade specifications were so consistent, we decided to roll out the maple cue blanks online in Spring of 2023.

Why Buy Our Maple Cue Squares?
Our Quarter-sawn maple is selling well into the snooker, pool & billiard industries in 2023 for several key reasons:
- Availability of maple square inventory. Northern White Hard Maple purchased in 2020-2021 has been acclimating in our warehouse for 12+ months AFTER kiln drying. Much of this stock is now being released for sale in 2023. Other high-quality operations like Champeau, Bell Forest and Yankee Veneer manufacture excellent squares, as well. However, availability is sporadic.
- Maple Supply Chain Issues. While supply chain issues from 2019-2021 have subsided a bit, Chinese buyers have increased their purchases of high quality maple logs in 2023. Thus, maple availability to cue makers in the United States and Canada has decreased.
- A-Grade Cue Specifications. We have high standards for our maple cue stock, even higher than what we produce for luthiers. We grade cue maple to such high standards that we don’t produce much B-grade or 2nds. If you have a need, contact us but we don’t advertise them.
- Tight Growth Rings. Slow-growth Maple from large logs produces vertical grain quartersawn that does not tail off or bend significantly when viewed from the end-grain. We require 9 growth rings per inch for our A-grade cue components.
- Maple Made in California, USA. Our maple is harvested from the slow-growth cold weather regions of Michigan, Wisconsin, Maine, New York in the Northern US and Canada. However, the manufacturing takes place in Fontana, California.
